“The woman was quickly apprehended when the DPO of Sango Ota, SP Dahiru Saleh, was informed and sent his investigators there, according to a statement from Ogun police’s Abimbola Oyeyemi on Saturday.

Oyeyemi claims that during questioning, the detained Nwozu admitted that “she is not the biological mother of the child; rather, she purchased the child somewhere in Agege area of Lagos state through one Ngozi Akaeme at the amount of 500,000 naira.”

Upon learning of her confession, the DAILY POST discovered that officers tracked down and arrested the aforementioned Ngozi Akaeme.

According to reports, Akaeme admitted to the police that she had helped Chinyere Nwozu sell the baby, saying “she actually bargained with the baby’s original mother who agreed to sell the infant.”

Oyeyemi claimed that attempts to get Akaeme to go with the police while they tried to find the baby’s biological mother were unsuccessful.

He continued by saying that CP Lanre Bankole, the police commissioner, had ordered that the two suspects be sent to the State CIID for additional investigation and potential prosecution.
