Tragedy: 2 dead, 4 injured in Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway accident
A Mack truck and a Nissan Cabster were involved in a collision on Saturday at Iyana Egbado along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, which left two people dead and four others injured.
Mr. Ahmed Umar, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun, verified the event to reporters in Abeokuta.
According to Umar, the collision included a vehicle with the licence plate T-12736 LA and a Cabster with the registration number KTU 142 XH at 6:00 in the morning.
The Nissan vehicle collided with the stopped truck, which had a flat tyre, according to the sector commander.
He continued by saying that a total of seven men were involved in the incident, of whom four sustained injuries, two died, and one escaped unharmed.
According to Umar, the deceased and injured victims were transferred to General Hospital, Ifo for the necessary care.
In the meantime, Ahmed Umar, the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, has expressed sympathy to the families of the crash victims and requested that they get in touch with the FRSC office in Itori for additional details about the event.
Umar cautioned drivers to stay away from haphazardly parking by the side of the road.
He suggested that appropriate placement of road signs be used to inform other drivers approaching in the event that any vehicles on the road break down.
