JUST IN: Lagos assembly member slumps, die after attending Tinubu’s campaign rally in Plateau

In Jos, Plateau State, Sobur Olayiwola Olawale, also known as “Omititi,” a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, fell and passed away.

The lawmaker passed away on November 15, 2022, after reportedly collapsing at the Jos Airport while traveling from Lagos to Jos for the launch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign.

In 1964, the late Olawale was born. He served as the State House of Assembly’s representative for Mushin Constituency II.

He presided over the House Committee of the Assembly on Local Government.

The late lawmaker participated in the game as the goalkeeper last Friday during a novelty football match to honor Speaker of the House Mudashiru Obasa’s 50th birthday.

His passing has brought the State House of Assembly to tears.

The lawmaker’s wife and three children have survived.

The Lagos State House of Assembly has not yet released a statement regarding his passing.

The ruling party has also yet to comment on his passing as of the time of publication.
