2023: Tinubu boasts, says Nigerians will give him their votes over Peter Obi, Atiku, others

Ahead of the forthcoming presidential election in 2023, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said he is confident Nigerians will vote for him over Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and others.

Tinubu made the expression while speaking at the Chatham House, United Kingdom (UK), in a lecture titled: ‘Nigeria’s 2023 elections: In conversation with Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, December 5, 2022.

He also pledged to build more schools, employ and train teachers nationwide if elected into office.

“I have confidence that the Nigerian people will go to the polls in a few short months and give me their mandate.

“I’m ready to lead and govern the country. I will return here to interact with you when the elections are over,” he said.

Tinubu added that he is ready to lead and govern the country, while promising to use technology and expertise to increase growth and development by providing critical infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Tinubu has disclosed the reason he ordered some members of the party to respond to questions directed at him at Chatham House, London.

During the event at Chatham House, the former Lagos State Governor had after his opening remarks, assigned Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai to speak on how he would address insecurity and asked the Director of Strategic Communication of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Aleke, to respond to the question on oil theft.

Also, the APC National Leader delegated a former Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State, Wale Edun, to respond to a question on how he would boost the economy if he becomes president.

Others who attended to various questions were the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; former Ekiti Governor, Kayode Fayemi; and APC National Women’s Leader, Dr Betta Edu.

Speaking on his decision, the APC flag bearer explained that he delegated the questions so as to show his team’s spirit in handling situations.

Tinubu said, “Let me demonstrate here one of those philosophies and doctrines that I believe firmly in, it is team-ship, unbreakable team. To demonstrate that, I’ll assign it to my team.”
