On Thursday, the Kano State High Court condemned two people to death by hanging in connection with the murder of Hanifa Abubakar.
Hanifa Abubakar, 5, was abducted and killed, and the court sentenced Abdulmaliq Abubakar Tanko and Hashimu Isiyaku to death by hanging for their major roles in the crime.
The two individuals found guilty of four offences involving kidnapping, attempted kidnapping, concealment, and criminal conspiracy—Tanko, the main suspect in the case, and Hashimu—were sentenced to death.
Fatima Musa, the third defendant, was given a two-year prison term despite just having been found guilty of attempted kidnapping and criminal conspiracy.
