Why Makinde suspended Ibadan traditional ruler

Reason has emerged why Oyo state government suspended a traditional ruler in Ibadan, Onido of Ido in Ido local government Oba Gbolagade Muritala Babalola Gbadewolu I.

According to a report by Sahara Reporters Oba Gbadewolu I was suspended over his alleged involvement in illegal mining.

Confirming the suspension earlier in the week the state commissioner for information and orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, said the government adopted the severe move to send a message to those who aid and abet criminals on their lands that they are at the wrong place at the wrong time.

The commissioner thereafter specifically said that Onido was suspended following an intelligence assessment that linked him to illegal miners in the state’s Ido local government region.
