BREAKING: DSS joins social media, gets handles

The Department of State Services (DSS) has for the first time created social media handles.

The Service announced its social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram in a statement by its spokesman, Dr. Peter Afunanya, on Monday, March 6, 2023.

According to the statement titled: “DSS SOCIAL MEDIA HANDLES DEBUT” the handles are: Twitter: @OfficialDSSNG; Facebook: OfficialDSSNG; and Instagram: @OfficialDSSNG.

Afunanya said the purpose was to enhance public and stakeholder engagements.

The statement reads, “Department of State Services (DSS) hereby informs the public that it has created Social Media handles which are as follows:
Twitter : @OfficialDSSNG
Facebook : OfficialDSSNG
Instagram : @OfficialDSSNG

“Similarly, the PRO’s Twitter handle is @DrAfunanya_PNA . Hitherto, the Service did not own or operate these handles. Its decision to operate them with effect from 6th March 2023 is to enhance public and stakeholder engagements. The public should be guided and NOTE that any such handles before now were/are FAKE, please.”

Meanwhile, Nigerians have welcomed the service to social media as they urged them to utilize the platforms for better service delivery.
