Yoruba and Hausa clash in Ibadan. Only one person feared death.

Injuries sustained while attempting to break up a brawl between a Hausa man and his Yoruba counterpart on MKO Abiola Way in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Sunday have reportedly caused the death of a lottery kiosk operator known as Baba Ijebu, Mufutau Sanni.
An altercation between a Hausa trader and his customer allegedly started the trouble, and Sanni intervened to try to settle the situation, according to a newspaper vendor who saw the event, Mr. Remi Abimbola, who spoke with Tribune Online.
However, Sanni’s involvement did not sit well with Hausas, who primarily ride commercial motorcycles, and they descended heavily on him.
According to Abimbola, the attack on Sanni was so severe that he had to be sent to a local hospital right away, where there were unsubstantiated reports that he had passed away.
The protection of the attack site has been taken over by Amotekun and members of the Nigerian Police as of the time this report was filed.
