Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, aka Agbogidi, two well-known Nollywood actresses and AGN members, have apparently been kidnapped.
This was revealed to reporters on Friday by Monalisa Chinda, the Actors Guild of Nigeria’s director of communications.
According to Chinda’s statement, the actors’ families stated they had not returned from a filming location in Ozalla Town, Enugu state, when the actors went missing.
“Members’ concern over the safety of actors filming in the nation has grown as a result of the suspicion that the two members were kidnapped.
The National President of the Guild, Ejezie Emeka Rollas, has directed all Actors to refrain from going to the outskirts of cities to film unless complete security coverage is provided to protect their safety in light of this unfortunate event, the statement said.
Mr. Rollas also expressed disbelief while pleading with the security services to expedite their rescue efforts.
He also urged every member to pray for the performers’ safe return.
