The incident is said to have taken place at Odmora Secondary School in Epee State when a 10-year-old student was kicked out of school for wrapping a book in a poster of Peter Obi.

School board Ms. Folasade Adefisayo, who announced the measures on Wednesday, said the governor had approved the dismissal of the principal, who has been asked to explain the incident.

“The Lagos State Government, the Ministry of Education and all its agencies will never instruct school principals, staff or teachers to act like this,” Adefisayo said. The commissioner assured the public that “this matter will be dealt with within strict rules as the reason for the student’s return is unacceptable”.

Adefisayo also said another headmaster of Odongguyan was caught on camera when shared on her media social media and took appropriate disciplinary action to further her political decisions towards her students.

“The Department of Education promotes and operates a public school system free of politics and political intrigue,” she said.

A thorough investigation into the matter will be conducted and those found guilty will be subject to disciplinary action as outlined in the civil service regulations,” Adefisayo explained.
