Prior to Saturday’s Independence Day and scheduled political gatherings in the state, members of the Rapid Response Squad and the Lagos Task Force have begun a patrol of the Lagos city.
Some of the police officers were spotted at the Lekki Tollgate, which the Federal High Court of Lagos had ordered Peter Obi’s Labour Party members not to congregate at.
The RRS tweeted that “Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi is now heading RRS team and Lagos Taskforce on convoy patrol of the city” in accordance with the direction of Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi.
