In a statement co-signed by Joy Okolie, the public relations officer, and Ajani, the deceased was described as having been abducted three days before while on her way to a movie set.

“The Mass Communication student Miss Happiness Odeh passed away unexpectedly, according to the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Students Union (MAPSU).

“She was reportedly kidnapped while she travelled down Iperu Road. With the permission of her parents, the deceased travelled three days ago from Abeokuta to Ipara, Ode-Remo, to see a filming site.

“Contrary to the rumours going around, her passing had nothing to do with her new position as Miss MAPOLY. She received the medal on August 3rd, and the movie theatre she visited had nothing to do with the college beauty pageants.
