Nigerian Chef Prince Temitope Adebayo, popularly known as Tope Maggie, is preparing to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon. Tope Maggie, who hails from Ogbomoso, will attempt to cook for 140 hours and 20 minutes, surpassing the current record of 120 hours set by Hilda Baci.
Tope Maggie’s attempt is scheduled for November 2023 in Ibadan, and Guinness World Records has approved him to take up the challenge. The chef has expressed his excitement and determination to break the record, saying that he has been preparing for this moment for a long time.
“I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity to showcase my cooking skills and make history,” said Tope Maggie. “I have been practicing and perfecting my recipes for months, and I am confident that I can break the current record.”
Tope Maggie is known for his exceptional culinary skills and has won several awards for his unique dishes. He is also a mentor to many young chefs in Nigeria and has been featured in various cooking shows and handling mighty events.
The cooking marathon will require a lot of preparation, planning, and stamina. Tope Maggie will need to cook continuously for over five days, He will also need to follow strict rules set by Guinness World Records, including preparing a minimum of three dishes per hour.
