Ogbomoso-Born Chef, Tope Maggie Set To Begin 200 Hours Cook-A-Thon Today. See Details(Photos)
Ogbomoso-born chef, Tope Maggie, will embark on a daring journey on Thursday, November 9 to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest culinary marathon.
Tope Maggie has set a target of 200 hours of cooking, or at least eight days, to be held at Ogbomoso Country Club, opposite LAUTECH College of Health Sciences, Isale-General.
His cooking marathon will begin at 6 p.m.

Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, demolished the old GWR owned by Lata Tondon, an Indian, last May, after Cooked 100 hours (4 days) non-stop, but 7 hours later she was docked a penalty for mistakenly taking extra minutes for one of her breaks at the start of the attempt.
She prepared more than 100 pots of food during the competition, mainly Nigerian cuisine.
Tondon’s record of 87 hours and 45 minutes has stood for four years.

Tope Maggie has also owned and managed restaurants in Ogbomoso for many years.
