Idan of Niger – Nigerians gush as Buhari appears in another military uniform to attend Armed Forces event in Abuja (Video)

President Muhammadu Buhari has sparked reactions after rocking a ceremonial Air Force attire on Tuesday night.

Buhari during the inspection of the new Armed Forces Officers Mess in Abuja was captured in an Air Force outfit which got many talking.

This comes some hours after appearing in another military attire while attending the Presidential Fleet Review (PFR) organised by the Nigerian Navy (NN) in his honour.

He inaugurated a new Augusta Westland helicopter, NN410, manufactured in Italy; and two ships – Landing Ship Transport (LST), named NNS KADA built in United Arab Emirates (UAE); and a Seaward Defence Boat (SDB), NNS IBENO, donated to Nigeria by China. He also unveiled the Nigerian National Maritime Strategy, 2023.

Nigerians reacting to the president’s attire described him as the ‘Idan of Niger’.

Idan, a Yoruba word that could be translated to mean an enigma, while Niger is nothing but the neighbouring Niger Republic which the president claimed to be his second home.
