Hon. Tolani Adigun Urges Love and Tolerance During Eid-el-Kabir Celebrations

Hon. Tolani Adigun has called on the Muslim community in Oyo State to embrace love and tolerance towards one another as they celebrate the 2024 Eid-el-Kabir. Hon. Tolani, the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer in the Ibadan South West Constituency 1 during the 2023 general elections, extended her heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community in Ibadan Southwest, party stakeholders, and the broader Muslim population in Oyo State.

In her goodwill message, made available to newsmen on Saturday, Hon. Tolani emphasized the importance of love and tolerance as essential virtues for fostering a peaceful, united, and prosperous Nigeria. She remarked, “In commemoration of the 2024 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, I congratulate the Muslim faithful in Oyo State and Nigeria. This is a moment for the Muslim community to show love and tolerance towards one another.”

Hon. Tolani also praised President Tinubu for his inclusive approach, especially in his recent appointments which have involved Oyo State. She expressed her support for the President’s Renewed Hope agenda and extended her congratulations to the new appointees from the state. “While I salute the strong will of President Tinubu in carrying Oyo State along, especially in his recent appointments, we want to reaffirm our continued support and prayers for the Renewed Hope agenda,” she stated.

However, Hon. Tolani urged for further inclusion, indicating that Oyo State still deserves more. “Like Oliver Twist, Oyo State deserves more, and we’re hopeful that Oyo will not be left out,” she added.

She also encouraged a sense of equality among different religious groups within the state, urging the Muslim community to use the occasion to pray for a better and more prosperous society. “Let’s all institute a sense of equality among religions and adherents in the state. I task the Muslim adherents to use the occasion to pray for a better and prosperous society,” she concluded.

The Eid-el-Kabir celebration is a significant event for Muslims worldwide, marked by acts of charity, communal prayers, and the remembrance of the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God.
