On Sunday, a group of gunmen broke into the 16 HOUR hotel in the Alomilaya neighbourhood of Ganmo, via Ilorin, Kwara State, and killed the 45-year-old proprietor, Kayode Akinyemi.
The hotel manager, Emmanuel Olushila Ojo “m,” was seriously hurt during the alleged assassination attempt, according to the state police public relations officer Okasanmi Ajayi in Ilorin on Monday. He is currently receiving treatment at the general hospital in Ilorin.
The hotel owner’s buddy, Ori “m,” who was there throughout the event, according to the spokeswoman, was kidnapped.
The Command’s tactical teams, along with hunters and vigilantes, have since been called to the location to search the bushes for a potential way to save the victim and catch the criminals.
He stated that the victim’s body had been taken to the mortuary of the general hospital for an autopsy.
The entire neighbourhood has been placed under complete lockdown, and a focused manhunt has been launched to find those responsible for the atrocious act, according to state police commissioner Tuesday Assayomo.
Since strict security measures have already been implemented to halt the activities of the criminal elements in the state, he said that offenders will be caught and dealt with.
