Group donates drone, okada, PC to boost security operations in LAUTECH

A group of Ogbomoso indigenes under the auspices of Ogbomoso Consultative Council (OCC) has donated equipment worth millions of naira to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).

The group made the donation on Friday, August 31, saying the equipment will help boost security operations around the school.

The equipment included five motorcycles, a laptop, and a DJI Surveillance drone.

While receiving the equipment, the acting vice-chancellor of LAUTECH, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, thanked the donors and pledged that management was going to ensure the effective use of the items.

LAUTECH, a tertiary institution located in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria, is one of the tertiary institutions owned by the Oyo state government. It was named after a former premier of the defunct western region Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola.

The institution was jointly owned and controlled by both Oyo and Osun states until it was ceded to the Oyo state government under Governor Seyi Makinde.

The Oyo state governor recently created a campus of LAUTECH in Iseyin town, which will house the faculty of agriculture.

The Iseyin campus christened College of Agricultural Science and Renewable Natural Resource is located along Iseyin-Okeho road. Work is currently ongoing there.
