Fire guts Radio Nigeria Ikoyi

Radio Nigeria located at Plot No. 35, Ikoyi Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, was gutted with fire on Wednesday night.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service disclosed this in a statement signed by its Director, Margaret Adeseye, on Wednesday night.

It stated that the cause of the fire is yet unknown, adding that there is no report of any casualty.

It disclosed that the agency had been alerted at about 5:30pm and had dispatched firefighters from Dolphin, Ebute Elefun Fire Stations as first responders.

According to the Director, the firefighters met the fire well-alight due to the substances involved in the material composition of the studio section.

She, however, assured the public that the collaborative efforts with the Federal Fire Service and other Emergency Responders including the Nigerian Police have put the situation under control and confined it to the studio section of the station where the fire reportedly emanated from.
