‘Doctor’ Abdulrasheed, who was kidnapped last Friday’s night in Gbede, Surulere local government area of Oyo state, has been released, star-potter.com can authoritatively confirm.
It was learnt that the man regained his freedom yesterday night after payment of ransom.
Confirming the news chairman of Surulere local government Hon Isaiah Adegbite said the victim was released after the family paid a ransom of N3m to the criminals.
The abductors had earlier demanded N30m ransom.
Within a week now the abductors who recently started operating in Ogbomoso axis had received a ransom of N8m.
N5m ransom was received to set free the supervisor of the TDB Farms, Christopher Bakare, also in Surulere local government, earlier kidnapped, a week ago.
The payment of N3m to secure the release of Abdulrasheed rounds up the figure to N8m.
It is also recalled that a Bishop traveling along Ogbomoso-Oyo was kidnapped last month with his wife and were released after payment of an undisclosed amount of money.
It seems fire is now on the mountain in Ogbomoso zone as well
