Bandits Demands N10 million Ransom To Release Corpse Of Man They Killed After Collecting N3 Million In Kaduna

The dead body of late Obadiah Ibrahim, a victim kidnapped a few weeks ago in Kaduna State, was held captive by bandits who sought N10 million in ransom.

In an interview over the weekend, the deceased brother Kefas Obadiah claimed that the criminals had previously demanded over N3 million in ransom but had refused to free the victim who had been abducted in October 2022.

He explained, “My brother, Obadiah Ibrahim, was abducted in early October first week at Sabon Gaya on his way back from Abuja to Kaduna.
“Even if I wasn’t the one interacting with the robbers. A mediator was present.

Before settling for N3 million plus, the bandits had demanded N200 million.
We should bring the money, they said. After we paid the ransom, they informed us that the money was for their food, which had run out, and that we needed to bring N15 million.

“They later reduced their offer to N5 million and three motorcycles, after which they collected one bike. We lost contact with them after they picked up a bike.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we were unable to communicate with them.

They responded, “Our brother is d3ad,” when the negotiator called them on Thursday.

The criminals initially demanded 200 million Naira, but subsequently agreed to accept 3 million Naira and more.
“They instructed us to bring the money, When we paid the ransom, they informed us that the money was for their food supplies, which had run out, and advised us to go get N15 million.

“They then agreed to pay N5 million and collect one motorcycle in exchange for three motorcycles. We last heard from them when they came to pick up a bike.

Despite our efforts, we were unable to speak with them.

After that, when the negotiator called them on Thursday, they said that their brother was d3ad.
