The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of sexually abusing a 9-month-old baby in the state’s Iyola Badia railway area.
Command spokesman SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest and told journalists in Lagos on Wednesday 29 March 2023 that the incident was reported to the police around 10 am on Monday.

According to Hundyin, the suspect allegedly went to the apartment where the baby’s mother laid the baby on the floor and immediately went to buy something outside the premises.
“The suspect allegedly had sex with a young baby and immediately fled the scene,” the PPRO said.
“The baby’s 16-year-old mother came to the ward with the baby and was given a medical form so she could take the child to the hospital for urgent medical attention. “But Tuesday around 11:00:
At 3:00 pm, the suspect was smoked out of the hideout by Iyola, a detective from his Badia Division. ”
A spokesman said the applicant and the suspect made statements, adding that the suspect confessed to the crime during questioning.
Hundeyin said the crime scene was filmed when police visited and blood-stained trousers were seized as exhibits. He said the case files and suspects will be forwarded to the state command’s gender division.
