Aaje Ologo in Ogbomoso North local government area of Oyo state is currently gripped by tension and panic as a sacrificial preparation was found behind the residence of the traditional ruler of the community, HRH Reuben Adesina Amao Osunbiyi I, Alaaje of Aaje Ologo.
ogbomosoinsightonline.com was informed by Oba Amao that the sacrifice comprising a small wooden casket, traditional pots, disused footwears, local sponge and so on, was discovered fortuitously after the bush behind his palace was cleared.
He meanwhile pointed accusing fingers at a non -resident (name withheld), who he alleged vehemently resisted the cutting of the bush where the sacrifice was reportedly found.
He said, “Aaje is now on red alert because of the strange sacrifice discovered behind my palace recently. Among the items contained is a small wooden casket.”
Explaining how the object was discovered, he narrated, “The back of the palace was bushy and we intended clearing it for farming. One Femi Idowu, who is not from Aaje family but lives in Atako Pakiotan community (he only comes to farm in Aaje), opposed the clearing of the place, alas, when it was forcefully done, we found the evil sacrifice.”
He however alleged that the suspect is a follower of his rival Alaaje, Sunday Ademola Ogunmola, whom he accused of various “unwholesome acts in Aaje such as land grabbing, multiple sales of lands, issuing of fake land receipts, etc. Thus, he is facing several criminal cases at the magistrate and high courts.”
On how the community handled the discovery, he disclosed, “The entire community elders rushed to the palace after the discovery. The incident caused a lot of panic but we’re told to remain calm and peaceful. However, the Iyalode and Iya Baale were directed to do the needful. In addition, the Christian body, the Muslim body and others have been praying day and night over the development. Also, I have set up a powerful committee with traditional background and native intelligence to investigate and proffer solutions spiritually and proactively to prevent death in the community.
“We urge the residents to remain calm but at alert and inform the necessary authorities of any suspicious movements. We will soon hold a security meeting and plan ways to forestall future occurrences while the security agencies will be adequately carried along. We also warn the sponsors of such evil deeds to desist before the law catches up with them. We have invoked the wrath of God on them.”
The former director of the Department of State Service (DSS) insisted “Aaje shall be great no matter the clandestine designs of the evil ones. We won’t be distracted, we are committed to bring development into the community and not chaos. I want to inform you that in May during my birthday, we will inaugurate ‘Sabo Ologo Market’ in Aaje Ologo. Aaje Ologo is a peaceful community with glorious people that have the fear of God, we won’t allow the evil-minded ones to thrive.”
Meanwhile, the suspect behind the sacrifice, because of his opposition to clearing the bush, could not be reached by ogbomosoinsightonline.com as his phone was off when called. Calls also made to Ademola Ogunmola were not picked.
