On Tuesday, a tipper truck carrying sand was involved in an accident with a motorcyclist, resulting in the rider’s death at the scene.
The incident, which occurred along Ilesa garage road on Osogbo circular road around 3 pm left shop owners in the area in fear.
It was gathered that the truck driver made a U-turn on the highway while the motorcyclist carrying security personnel was riding from behind heading towards Ilesa garage.
An eye witness, Adesoun Bayo said the oncoming motorcyclist crashed on the truck hitting his head on it iron side and died on the spot.
Confirming the incident, Osun Police command spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola said the motorcyclist died on the spot while the security personnel sustained injury.
“The motorcyclist was killed on the spot. His lifeless body is on the ground while the officer (wounded) has been taken to the hospital.
“The situation is under control while the traffic division is investigating the incident”, she said.
