Oriire Youths Rallies In-House Stakeholders, says ‘Oriire Local Government On The Path To Rise Again’
Rounding up their awareness for the first Stakeholders’ Summit of Oriire which is scheduled for next tomorrow Saturday 21st of December, 2024 at Ikoyi-Ile, Oriire Youth Council received the blessings and goodwill of their Traditional rulers to carry on with their plans, while pledging their solidarity.
Joshua Ojo Akin popularly knowns as J’Icon – member representing the local government at the 2nd Assembly of Oyo State Youth Parliament while briefing journalists in Ibadan on Wednesday explained that:
“while coming up with the idea of this summit, we prayed God to give us the requisite wisdom to be a pathfinding agent for the new Oriire of our dream. For this summit, we have made several concerted efforts to raise adequate awareness among the selected stakeholders, that is the traditional rulers, political and religious leaders, community based group, our youth colleagues and our vibrant student leaders.”
The National Chairman of the Youth – Sarafadeen Owonikoko Isiaka also hinted that:
“All stakeholders have all promised to be there, taking cognizance that Oriire interest supercedes individual ambitions.”
“We all believe in the power of dialogue, true leadership recognizes that progress is born not of unilateral decisions but of collective wisdom. The gathering promises to be an opportunity to listen, to learn, and to find common ground. It would be a chance to demonstrate that even in the face of disagreement, we can work together for the greater good.”
“As leaders of the people across boards, we are all stewards of hope. The people of Oriire are looking up to us for guidance, for solutions, and for inspiration. They trust that we will rise above personal and partisan interests to act in their best interests. We cannot afford to betray that trust. We would, through the summit reaffirm our commitment to their welfare and to chart a path forward that prioritizes peace, unity, and progress.”
Temitayo Ogundare Lawrence, who is the Vice Chairman of the group also appeals to the stakeholders on putting Oriire first in their modus operandi:
“As we are preparing to deliberate next tomorrow, our appeal to all is to remember that our shared goal transcends individual ambitions. We would also make efforts to broker peace where necessary, to mend what is broken, and to lay the groundwork for a stronger, more united Oriire.”
“Our hope is to leave that place next tomorrow not just with resolutions but with a renewed sense of purpose and a clear plan of action.”
For the smooth running of the just three hours event of 9am to 12pm, the Youths were seen yesterday at the local government headquarters community, Ikoyi-Ile with the area Police DPO, DSS Director and other security outfits covering the area.
“We have concluded with the security network of Oriire to assist us with their presence. We also appeals to brigand and hooligans through this medium that they better stay from the vicinity of Jegbe Town-hall that day, otherwise forment trouble at their own risk.”
May God bless Oriire !
God bless Oyo State !!
God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!”, Abdullahi Adeola – the ward 1 Coordinator of the youth added.
