Liverpool star Mohamed Salah broke two Champions League records with a hat-trick in the 7-1 victory over Rangers.
Salah came on in the 68th minute and scored his first goal in the 75th minute, scoring again just five minutes later. Another goal soon followed, with Salah scoring a hat-trick in just six minutes.
The winger broke the Champions League record for the fastest hat-trick in his league history, Dynamo in 2011 against Zagreb where he scored Baffetimbi two minutes earlier than what Gomis had scored at Lyon.
This wasn’t the only record Salah broke, as the 38-year-old Salah became the top goalscorer for an English club in his league Champions League. Salah overtook Didier Drogba, who scored 36 goals for Chelsea in Europe’s elite club competition, and Sergio Aguero, who scored the same goal for Manchester City.
Salah has been criticized for his form this season, with the Egyptian only scoring two goals in the Premier League so far.
But the impact he had on the Rangers was a reminder of his ability.
Liverpool have struggled for consistency as a whole this season, but their confidence has been boosted by a strong win over Rangers.
Scott Arfield put Rangers ahead in the 17th minute, but Liverpool responded well, with Roberto Firmino scoring twice and Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott both adding Salah hat-tricks to the scoresheet.
Liverpool are now second in the Champions League group with nine points from four games.
