Patricia Masithela, a Nigerian woman, has been mauled to death by a pack of dogs in Latina, Italy.
According to the Mirror UK, the incident happened late Monday night, while Patricia was visiting a male acquaintance in the Lazio region.
Neighbours were alerted as the 27-year-old screamed during the attack.
Patricia recently relocated from Nigeria and paid a visit to a friend who was not at home.
She was discovered lying in a pool of blood with deep wounds across her body.
The report claims the Police shot two of the dogs involved “to allow emergency responders to access the scene, while the rest of the pack fled after the gunfire.”
Emergency medics provided immediate treatment to Patricia and she was rushed to Santa Maria Goretti Hospital.
However, despite their efforts, the mother of one succumbed to her severe injuries and blood loss.
Investigation into the incident has already begun, as local authorities continue to probe how starving dogs came to be in the area.
