BREAKING: INEC declares APC’s Okpebholo winner of Edo governorship election

Monday Okpebholo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been declared winner of the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday.
Okpebholo secured a total of 291,667 votes. His closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 247,655 votes.
Olumide Akpata, representing the Labour Party (LP), finished third, receiving a total of 22,763 votes.
Farouk Adamu, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer in Edo, announced the results of the election on Sunday evening.
The votes come from a total of 2.2 million voters with permanent voter cards across the 18 Local Government Areas and 4,519 polling units in Edo State.
