Subject: Urgent Action Required – Incident at Lautech Ogbomoso Campus

His Excellency Sir
Governor Seyi Makinde,
Executive Governor of Oyo State.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring your attention to a recent incident that occurred at the Lautech Ogbomoso campus. During the late hours on Monday, 22nd of April, 2024, an individual named Mr. Saheed, also known as Saheed Sarz, engaged in reckless behavior that resulted in the injury and loss of life of multiple individuals.

Firsthand recollections confirm that Mr. Saheed fired his weapon without regard for the safety of those around him. Given his suspected role in the EndSars Protest in 2021, he was accused of extortion and other criminal activities by a good number of students, which also instigated the youth and student communities to protest against the EndSars. This occurrence is very worrying. It is imperative that a thorough investigation be conducted to uncover the truth and ensure justice is served.

We, the concerned members of the community, urge you to take immediate action in addressing this matter. We call upon the State government, along with the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Special Adviser to the Oyo state governor, to initiate a comprehensive investigation into the incident. It is crucial that those responsible for this tragedy are held accountable for their actions.

Furthermore, we implore you to implement measures that will prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. The safety and well-being of the students, faculty, and staff at Lautech Ogbomoso campus should be of paramount importance.

We stand united in demanding justice for the victims and their families. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that such incidents are thoroughly investigated and addressed promptly.
