Bandits broke into a female hostel in a Federal University in the village of Savon Gida in Bungudu, Gusau, Zamfara province.
The culprit broke into the university’s female student dormitory and detained two security guards. They also robbed her cell phone before kidnapping two of her female students from the university’s microbiology department.
Zamfara Police spokesman SP Muhammad Shev confirmed the incident and said a police tactical team had been deployed to the scene.
However, they did not attack the attacker, who had fled with the victim to an as yet unidentified destination. He said the police commissioner has deployed additional reinforcements to complement the ongoing rescue effort.
“Therefore, the Police Commissioner asks for the continued support of the public so that the police can successfully carry out their rescue missions,” he said.
