Children Protest Against Tinubu In Kwara, Call President ‘Thief’ Over Growing Hardship In Nigeria
Dozens of children, mostly below the age of 15 on Saturday, held a protest in Ilorin, Kwara State against the government of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The protesting children are seen in a viral video waving leaves and lamenting the hardship the government of President Bola Tinubu has brought on the country.
The children are heard saying: “Tinubu. Thief. This suffering is enough. We are tired and we cannot continue like this.”
In another video seen by SaharaReporters online, another set of children were also protesting in front of the Emir of Ilorin’s palace. The protesters were also heard lamenting hunger and hardship created by policies of the APC government.
Last week, SaharaReporters reported how a commercial driver identified as Wahab Ajibaye based in Ilorin expressed frustration over the rising fuel prices, saying it had left him struggling to provide for his family.
Despite earning N20,000 daily, Ajibaye said he took home only N3,000 after fuel expenses, leaving him unable to take care of his wife and children.
He said: “I am buying fuel for N1100 and I make N20,000 (daily) but I take only N3,000with me to my house (after work). I am the owner of my car but I am no longer making enough to cater for my children and my wife.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) government will not end well. Nigeria is becoming worse and we pray God takes away this set of current leaders.”
Ajibaye blamed the ruling APC government for the hardship faced by Nigerians, saying, “Their government is bringing more suffering. They’re not ashamed, despite many Nigerians cursing them. They should have a rethink.”
