Iluju in Oriire local government area of Ogbomoso zone Oyo state had its peace ruffled Friday night as suspected Fulani kidnappers abducted a popular drink distributor.
An eyewitness informed Star Potter that the incident occurred at about 8:30pm on Friday.
“We are neighbours and we started hearing ‘Jesus, Jesus.’ It was then we realised it was a case of kidnapping. The criminals came on four motorcycles and people said they were Fulani men. They succeeded in taking away the woman, who has a bottle shop beside First Baptist Church along Ikoyi road.”
The victim was said to be an Igbo woman whose husband identified as Dennis is away from the town.
“As the kidnappers were retreating they started shooting into the air to scare people away. We heard this morning meanwhile his husband had been contacted by the kidnappers.”
Recall the traditional ruler of the town died few weeks ago.
