A Nigerian man expresses frustration after alleging that his bank debited him a total of N74,000 as ‘maintenance charges’ for October.
The young man identified as @OtunbaIcon001 on X (formerly Twitter) took to the platform to call out the bank for the outrageous amount deducted from his account.
In his post, he shared screenshots showing two debits, one for over N5,000, marked as ‘VAT on account maintenance’, and another for N69,000 for account maintenance.
Frustrated, he questioned the charges, tweeting, “Zenith bank must be kidding!!!! Zenith Bank what’s this ???????? How come 💀.”
His post quickly gained attention, with many others commenting on their experiences with unexpected banking charges.
A social media user @Lomooye1 quizzed, “69k for account maintenance ??? E Dey collect AC?????”
Another user @sir_obafoluke added, “Christmas don reach… where you think say money to decorate Zenith road V I dey come from.”
