A fire broke out early this morning at Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, sparking concerns among staff and patients alike. According to reports, the fire started around 5:00 am in the Paediatrics Consultant’s office, located within the emergency and accident unit of the hospital.
One of the patients at the hospital stated that the flames erupted around 5:15 am, sending people into a panic as they scrambled to contain the fire. In a swift and courageous response, hospital staff and some patients used available sweaters and other resources to combat the blaze before the arrival of the Ogbomoso Fire Service officers.
The fire was eventually brought under control, with no immediate reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation as authorities assess the extent of the damage.
