The incident occurred around 3:15 pm, as the truck driver parked by the roadside to observe prayers.
Seizing the opportunity, the hoodlums swiftly descended on the vehicle, making away with every carton of spaghetti it carried.
An eyewitness, who had been trading in the area for over a decade, described the incident as unfortunate.
The attackers left no carton of spaghetti behind, leaving the truck emptied of its cargo.
The eyewitness, who described the incident as unfortunate and regrettable, said such act had never occurred around the area since he had been trading there for more than 10 years.
“Not a single cartoon of the spaghetti was left by the hoodlums on the truck,” the source added.
It was learnt that a police team deployed to the scene of the incident arrested five suspects.
This is coming barely one week after hoodlums hijacked trailers loaded with foodstuffs in the Suleja area of Niger State, stealing bags of rice and other food items amidst widespread hardship in the country.
The trailers were said to be heading for Abuja from Kaduna when the thugs blocked the road and made burnfires on the highway.
There were several protests by Nigerians following the rising cost of living in the country asking the Federal Government to ameliorate their pains.
But President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for patience, saying there are benefits of his economic policies in the long term. He however condemned Monday’s nationwide protests embarked upon by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), describing it as unacceptable.
