2027: Oriire Youth Council Continues Stakeholder Consultations to Boost Local Development
In a continued effort to drive development in Oriire Local Government Area, the Oriire Youth Council, led by National Chairman Honourable Sarafadeen Aderemi Owonikoko, visited Honourable Luqman Majekobaje, former Interim Chairman of Oriire South Local Council Development Area. The consultation, held at Majekobaje’s personal residence, marks a pivotal moment in the council’s post-event activities following the successful OriireFirst Stakeholders Summit held at Jegbe Town Hall in Ikoyi-Ile in December 2024.
Honourable Majekobaje expressed his gratitude for the visit and praised the youths for their dedication to advancing the community. He encouraged the group to remain committed to their vision for a better Oriire, focusing on key areas such as economic growth, infrastructure development, and improving the quality of education. “Your unwavering determination will help shape the future of this community,” Majekobaje said, urging them to keep pushing for progress.
The meeting with Majekobaje is part of the youth council’s broader consultation exercise aimed at engaging influential stakeholders who can contribute to the growth of Oriire.
Earlier in the consultation process, the youth council also met with Hon. Kayode Adekunle, former representative of Oriire at the defunct Constituent Assembly, Hon. Jacob Abidoye Bamgboye, former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, and Barrister Adekunle Bankole, a former interim Chairman of Oriire Local Government.
Accompanying Honourable Owonikoko during the visit were other key youth representatives, including Joshua Ojo Akin, who represents Oriire at the Oyo State Youth Parliament, Akanji Folasade, Vice Chairman of the Oriire Youth Council, Ajala Oluwaseun, Assistant National Secretary, Ojo Oluwasegun, Assistant Public Relations Officer, along with Akorede Phebian, Aremu Gideon, Saheed Kazeem, and Olarewaju Nafiu.
As the consultation process continues, the Oriire Youth Council remains focused on fostering collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that the voices of young people are integral in shaping the future of Oriire. With each meeting, the youth council takes one step closer to creating tangible change in the community, addressing pressing issues, and building a stronger, more prosperous Oriire for all.
